Hostel Workers required in various locations across London
Rate of pay: £9.00 – £9.50 per hour
Duration: Ad hoc and full-time temporary positions available
Shift pattern: Early, late, and waking night shifts
You will provide an effective, high quality support service to address the presenting needs of residents in a busy hostel housing men and women with complex and enduring needs in relation to substance misuse and related issues (ie. street activity, mental health).
Working under the direction of the Service Manager and Team Manager you will help to enhance the life chances of service users by adopting an opportunities-led approach.
To provide effective day to day shift cover that supports the aims of the project, safeguards the residents and provides effective support within a harm minimisation and strengths and recovery framework
To proactively follow up referrals to the project; interview and assess referrals to ensure the project criteria are met and suitable clients accepted.
Begin the process of a comprehensive ongoing needs assessments with clients; use the outcome star and record accurately the referral on the case management system.
For an agreed caseload of clients, produce comprehensive and high quality risk assessments and risk management plans.
Produce comprehensive and high quality needs assessments.
To hold a caseload of key clients and assist them to identify and reach goals that translate assessed needs, wishes and strengths into SMART objectives.
Ensure work is person-centred and involves significant others and other professional agencies.
Minimum one year’s experience of working in accommodation-based services.
Experience with complex/challenging behaviour desirable.
Minimum one year’s experience of managing a key-work caseload completing risk assessments and working with individuals in supported planning.
Ability to advocate effectively for clients and to promote customer’s rights.
